Essay On Pakistani Village Life

Essay On Pakistani Village Life.Pakistan is an agricultural country. Our prosperity depends upon our agricultural production. For this, the Pakistan farmer's contribution is great. Pakistan. as a matter of fact, is a land of farmers. They live in villages. About 75 per cent of our population lives in villages.

A Pakistani farmer is respected by everyone. It is he who produces grains for the rest of the country. The whole year. the Pakistani farmer is busy in tilling the fields. sowing seeds and reaping the crops. His, indeed, is a very busy life.

He gets up early in the morning. Then he takes his yoke, bulls and plough-share and goes to his fields. There he ploughs the land for hours together. Then he takes his breakfast. The breakfast is brought by the members of his family in the fields. His breakfast is very simple. It mainly consists of bread; pickle and lassi (a preparation from curd). After taking his breakfast, he again gets busy with his work.

He labours very hard. But after his hard labour he gets a very reasonable amount. He sells his production of food-grains in the market at a low and normal price. He lives a very simple life. His clothes are simple. He lives in a mud-house. His property consists of a few bulls, a plough-share and - a few acres of land. He lives from hand to mouth.

A farmer is the very soul of a nation. Our Government always tries to help the farmers. Sometimes, Govt. provides them free-interest loans, tractors and other machinery. Everybody knows the fact that it the farmer who feeds the nation. On him depends the agricultural production. They must be provided with all the latest implements of farming. Better seeds, fertilizers, manure, implements for agriculture can enable him to produce more, and grow more.

Essay On My Most Interesting Dream

Essay On My Future Dreams Plans.

Dreams a-e the by-products of our sub-conscious state of mind. Dreams are of many kinds. But the dream which I had last Sunday was the most interesting dream of mine. In dream, I was transported into a fairy land where beautiful belles were dancing and singing.I dreamt that I had gone to Paris. There I went into a night club. I saw many exciting scenes there - Twist, Ballroom and Shake were going on. As I was watching the spectacle of dance and drama, a beautiful girl gazed upon me.

I was attracted by her rosy cheeks and alluring eyes and smiles on her face. I at once recollected the famous poem of Keats known as "La Belle Dame Sans Merci". Her silent expression of love enthralled me. I was really captivated by her charms and sweetness. She was really making her silent expressions of love to me. I thought of responding to her love.

I talked to her and she passed very lovely and witty remarks upon me. Then both of us took a cup of coffee. We talked to our hearts, content. At the same time. I was recollecting the eternal lines of Shakespeare.

Love is not love that alters
When it finds alterations.
Or bends with the remover to remove.

Now I was thinking, whether her love was true or false. But I tried to he true to her. I sincerely expressed my love to her in the most unambiguous terms. We ultimately promised to marry and live as companions.
Soon the dance, drama and music programme came to an end. With this she also went somewhere, saying that she will be coming soon.

I kept waiting for her. But she did not turn up. I was repenting over my love. I was thinking that I had been be tread in love. As I was pondering over this heart-stricken subject. my eyes opened. I realised that I was enjoying the night life of Paris in dream.

In the dream. I really came across a woman who has been described by John Keats in his profound poem "La Belle Dame Sans Merci" i.e. The Beautiful Woman without Mercy-. The dream was interesting, exciting and intoxicating.

Essay On Rome Was Not Built In A Day

Essay On Rome Was Not Built In A Day.Nothing great or valuable is possible in this world within a short space of time. All such things must be accomplished gradually. No one can reach the summit of a mountain by a single leap. The climbing must be done slowly and cautiously and considerable effort is required to reach the top. A building cannot rise suddenly from its foundation to roof. It must be constructed step by step: first the foundation, then the plinth, then the walls and finally the roof.

The city of Rome with its magnificent buildings, public parks and squares and its extensive empire, embracing almost the whole world, was not the work of a single day. Rome was at first only a small village having only a few mean huts. Long years of patient toil on the part of the people, their perseverance and strong determination made Rome the greatest power in the world and helped her to attain the height of glory and prosperity. It was not the work of days or months but years.

That is true of everything great in this world. One cannot expect to be successful in any great undertaking in the course of a few days. In order to accomplish any difficult task certain qualities are essential. In the first place, a clear cut plan arrived at after due and mature deliberation is necessary. Secondly, there must be an earnestness about the work undertaken, and lastly, patient perseverance is needed to carry the work through. Over and above these essential qualities, time and steady application and industry are also indispensable.

Armed with these qualities, any man can hope to achieve success in any enterprise, however great and difficult it might be. Without the qualities mentioned above, however, it is not possible to accomplish any great object or to come out successful in any difficult undertaking. If a person sets about anything without a definite and carefully considered plan, ten to one he will have to turn back after having proceeded a little way and so much labour and time will be wasted.

He will meet with difficulties which he never contemplated and he will have no other alternative but to begin afresh. Haste and impatience also stand in the way of success. These things make diligence, perseverance and close attention impossible and, without these, there can be no hope of success. Moreover, one who does not possess patience is not capable of sustained effort and very soon, long before half the work is completed. one's efforts begin to lose their intensity and one gives up the task in disgust. Want of perseverance is another obstacle in the path of success.

In every great undertaking one is sure to meet with failure for the path of success is not strewn with roses. One should not lose heart at these failure, but proceed in one's work steAdily and perseveringly. But one who is not endowed with this quality of perseverance will receive a setback as soon as failures
ertake. One will lose all energy and give up one's task in despair.

The truth of the proverb "Rome was not built in a day" is amply illustrated in the history of the English people. Their early accounts show that they were a race of rude savages. By dint of patience and perseverance, they slowly acquired civilisation and began to extend their possessions bit by bit. They came to Sub¬continent as petty traders and, by virtue of their qualities, gradually established their sway over the whole of such a large area as Sub continent.

In the same slow manner their dominions extended till at last at the present day we find that the" sun never sets on the British Empire -- so extensive are her possessions. This achievement of the English people was only possible because they were a diligent and a years, and was only possible because they were a diligent and a persevering race, The Chinese philosopher, Foo-tsze. who had given up his literary pursuits in impatience, was inspired with patience on seeing a woman rubbing a small bar of iron on a piece of stone with the object of making a knitting needle out of it. The lesson taught by the woman was deeply impressed upon him and by virtue of his patience he rose to be one of the greatest men in China.

The proverb "Rome was not built in a day" teaches us that it is foolish to expect to achieve anything great in a single day. We must allow time for the accomplishment of a great object and must have patience and perseverance to see it through. The proverb is an eye-opener and a source of encouragement to us. If for the building of the vast Roman Empire it was necessary to spend vast energy and enormous time, then it is no wonder that proportionate energy and time will have to be spent for all great things.

The example of Rome should fill us with vigour and energy even though we meet with failures, and should take us onward till we succeed in achieving the great object which is our goal.

Essay On Corruption In Government System

Essay On Corruption In Government System.

At present everything is fast and making progress, with this fast advancement. corruption has become a world problem. It is in fact, a universal problem, having existed in all ages. It has clung to mankind like an incurable disease. In view of its general prevalence. scholars have devoted a good deal of through and attention to this vice. The true reason for corruption is a desire to get rich by any means. In a free and competitive society, investment of capital can yield only reasonable returns in the long run.

But corruption or acceptance of bribes promises a rapid change in financial conditions. Originally the Police and P.W.D. were notorious for corruption but now the evil has spread to almost every Department of Government. Even courts of justice and education are no exceptions. They have also become an arena of corruption.

Widespread of corruption has created disappointment and discontent among the community. The machinery of government gets rusted and ceases to work in the intended manner. Corruption decreases respect for law and sense for allegiance to the government. In a society governed by corrupt officials, the whole system of moral, ethical and religious values is impaired.

The distinction between right and wrong disappears. Revolutions and military takeovers become common. Every student of history knows that one of the main causes of the downfall of nations has been corruption.
Some important factors that contribute to the prevalence of corruption differ from country to country. Those that are common to most countries including Pakistan are seven. First, general economic condition to the country is poor and every one tries to feather his nest.

Secondly, the rates of remuneration of public functionaries are low, and they are tempted to accept bribes. Thirdly, the general price level and the standard of living are very high; honest means of a person fail him. Fourthly, social conditions and customs demand lavish expenditure of money.

Fifth, there exists no strong opinion against corruption; it has been accepted as a common thing. sixthly, laws confer on the public servants vast powers and discretions; they take undue advantage of that. Lastly, there are no adequate means to prevent corruption or punish the law breakers.

To remove corruption from the society, a complete change of the political, social and economic system is necessary. No revision of pay scales, however liberal, can reduce corruption. The reason is that the wealth targets aimed at by corrupt officials are very high. Similarly a mere change in government is quite ineffective. The new government has to rely on permanent services for its day to day administration. Unless the motive or inducement for corruption is removed, corruption will continue. Four steps, however. may be of some use. First, wide discretionary powers should be taken away from individual officials. Secondly.

Anticorruption department should be made more effective. Thirdly, the minds of the people should be changed, by the prevalence of moral values. Lastly. the law-bakers should be punished severely and dealt with iron-hand.
