In the last two or three centuries, science has made great progress. We are living in the age of continuous industrial revolution. We have built vast industries that are providing large quantities of goods and machines.

Millions of factories in all parts of the world are sending huge quantities of carbon dioxide and other poisonous gases in the atmosphere. This is not the whole story. They are pouring continuous streams of harmful chemicals into the rivers of the world. Every hour our cars, buses and aeoplanes are discharging deadly poisons into our atmosphere. There are three kinds of pollutions which we are facing.
  1. Atmospheric Pollution
  2. Water Pollution
  3. Noise Pollution
Efforts are being done to control the pollution throughout the world. The hole of ozone layers is being tried to repair. Many special organization has been made to control the pollution. The electronic and print media is trying to produce complete awareness about the pollution and its causes and about its results in future. I think following attempts can be made to control the pollution.
  1. Complete awareness should be provided to people by using electronic and print media.
  2. It should be ordered to all factory and mills owners that they must destroy their wastes in the most careful way.
  3. Recycling of the wastes should be introduced in factories.
  4. The smoke of the transporting vehicles should be controlled by using special devices.
  5. The rattling of machines and the pressure horns should be avoided and the noisy process should be controlled.
  6. The discharge of the wastes into the rivers should be stopped.

Essay on A City of Problems

Big cities are generally thickly populated all over the world. People from different parts of different parts of a country come to the big cities and they have different natures and constitute a society in a big city, therefore many problems are produced in a big city due to thick population and the different nature of the people. Karachi is the big city of Pakistan and it is rightly called "A City of Problems". Due to thick population and ever expanding quality of Karachi, the life of Karachi has become quite difficult and troubling.
  1. There are many problems which we face daily are following.
  2. Traffic and transport problems.
  3. The problems of frequent power failure of electricity.
  4. The problem of short supply of drinking water.
  5. The problems of less number of amusement parks and public libraries.
  6. The problems of broken roads and lack of speed breakers.
  7. The problems of insanitary condition which looks nearly every where.
Majority of the people in Karachi travel in buses, mini buses and coaches which run on the road with full of passengers even the passengers are looking on their roof and hanging outside. Traffic in Karachi is now beyond control. Due to the reckless driving thousands of lives are lost every year. The supply of electric power is inadequate and far from well, low voltage damages the costly electric appliances. The people are looked in great trouble due to the frequent power failure of electricity.

Great rush of people and heavy traffic is a part of life in big cities. So in Karachi the great rush of people and heavy traffic is looked everywhere, here people work like machines. Atmospheric pollution is common due to the smoke of vehicle and the use of chioroflouro carbon. Noise pollution also makes the life of people uneasy.

In Karachi, people are suffered from the short supply of drinking and the daily us of water. The broken roads and insanitary conditions are nearly everywhere which make difficult to move even on foot. Crimes are at peak in Karachi. In buses and wagons pockets are usually picked. Theft, dacoities and burglaries are common. Besides the adulteration, corruption, bribery in offices and violence are the major problem that we face everyday in Karachi. Nowadays homosexuality of young boys and the business of prostitution is increasing. Street beggars are common in Karachi. They get together on the places of amusement and in markets where they try to convince people for their help.

On considering the problems of Karachi as the life in big city, we conclude that the life in big cities has many charms and attractions, it provides many facilities but is also full of mental confusion and worries which destroy the creativity of a person.

Essay on Cell Phone Effects

Mobile phones which are also known as cell phones are cordless telephones linked to a digital cellular radio network. Mobile phones can connect to the Internet via a data card which converts computer data into a form that can be passed over the network and vice versa.

Mobile phones have revolutionized the Societies of the world. Every single person is now taking interest in keeping a mobile phone. Mobile phones prove a good invention of science because they can receive and send signals to communicate. The hand sets are so small that they can be easily kept in pocket. Everyone who has a mobile phone set and connection can be detected easily and his relatives and friends and other persons who want to talk to him on important matter can easily call him on his personal mobile phone. Thus mobile phones make the world more closely.

Every technology has its pleasant effects as well as bad effects, similarly where mobile phones are the source of many advantages, they also provide a trend of fashion. People want to keep the mobile phone of latest technology, they spend a lot of money on buying mobile phone without considering on their budget of income and expenditure. The students are looking everywhere playing with their mobile phones. Some immoral activities are also being shown by the use of the mobile phones. The rate of crimes has also been increased due to the increasing use of mobile phones. Hence we can say mobile phone is necessity, if it is used in constructive process but if it is used only as fashion, it becomes a great source of the wastage of our precious time.

Essay on Rapidly Increasing Population

The growth in population has been caused not by sudden increase in fertility. This has been caused due to advance in medical and ancillary science and the consequent decrease in the death rate. The other causes for the growth of population in Pakistan are poverty, lack of education, early marriages, particularly among the rural population and general attitude of the people towards family. Children are considered gift and blessing of God. Practical application of family planning methods is not so popular among the people.

The government has not been able to prevent the growth rate in spite of family planning program due to lack of practical use of birth control methods. The government has admitted its failure to limit the population to the proposed target. Rapid population growth is also tending to overuse of the countries natural resources, particularly in rural areas where majority of the people depending on agriculture for their livelihood. With rapidly increasing population, agricultural holdings are becoming smaller and unproductive.

With rapidly growing population, it is becoming difficult to manage adjustments relating to economic and social changes. Urbanization trend is creating such problems as housing, power, water and transport problem. Rapidly increasing population to an increased demand for food products, clothes, houses etc. is also plunging the economy into large scale of unemployment and under employment. With increasing the population, proportion of worker to total population is also rising. Rapidly growing population is also leading to environmental damage. Scarcity of land is pushing a large number of people to ecologically sensitive areas such as hill sides and tropical forests.

Essay on Low Purchasing Power

Prices play a very vital role in the modern economy particularly the one which involves a free enterprise system. They guide and organize, like an invisible hand, almost all the economic activities concerning production, consumption, distribution and exchange of goods and services. The important functions usually performed by the prices perform the function of Co-ordination between consumption and production automatically. The consumers are able to convey their preferences through the prices they are willing to offer.

Similarly, the producers are able to indicate the channels into which they would allocate their productive resources. When price of a commodity rises it checks demand and stimulates supply, and vice versa. The price of a commodity or a service constitutes an income, which is through purchasing power, determines the extent and direction of economic activities. Due to this important function of prices there seems to be every justification to say, that the modern free enterprise system is governed by prices.

Prices are supposed to harmonize the interest of both the consumers and the producers. According to Beriham, ‘They tend to harmonize the desire of entrepreneurs for profits and the desire of consumers to satisfy their wants as fully as possible from the factors of production available. Prices automatically allocate the productive resources among the various uses in such a manner that each makes a maximum contribution to the total output.

Any misallocation is rectified through the price indicators. Price allocates the available labour force of a country by balancing the relevant supply and demand without any favoritism and injustice.
Analyzing the role of prices in an economy it can be concluded that the movements of prices can control the whole working of economy. Therefore, the factors including fiscal and monetary policies and institutions which are responsible to determine the direct ions of movements should be exploited very wisely. A healthy and smooth working of an economy largely depends upon the smooth movements of prices. Abrupt changes in movement of prices result in far- reaching distortions in the working of an economy.

The inflationary pressure in Pakistan has been considered mainly due to the global cause by the experts and economists. Being linked with the economies of other countries on basis of foreign trade, economic assistance, transfer t technology and direct foreign investment, Pakistan cannot avoid its impact. However, Pakistan has to suffer harder than the other due to her particular domestic circumstances; prolonged adverse position of balance of payments, extension deficit financing, international currency disturbances and acute shortage of commodities surplus to be exported. Besides, the constant increase in prices of imports such as wheat edible oils, petroleum and various kinds of machinery etc. has put Pakistan in great trouble. Since the last thirty years constructional activities in both the public and private sectors have increased to a great extent. The expenditure on construction have considerably increased the total supply of money in the country which has ultimately led to galloping inflation in Pakistan- To ease the burden of debt servicing and to lower the budget deficit a transparent privatization programme can help effectively. For this purpose, privatization proceeds should be properly used for debt retirement.
