Parents play an important role in the child's upbringing. However, it is not easy to be a good parent, much to the surprise &those who think dealing with young children is a piece of cake. In my view, to be a good parent you have to meet certain requirements that I am going to discuss future in the following paragraphs.
You should spend time with your child. Please do not mistake me. By that I am not saying you must resign from your job and stay at home with your baby all day; instead, I am referring to quality time.

To be a good parent you need to know your child well; if you do not even have the minimum amount of time to start with, how on earth are you going to know your child? No matter how busy you arc, be you a businessman or a police officer, you must get some time off work to be with your child. Knowing how impressionable a child at his tender age is, you cannot expect him to feel close to someone he barely see everyday, much less play the role of a good para However, I am not talking about large amount of time that busy as you arc, you may riot be able to afford. Remember, it is quality time, not quantity time.

You can be a CEO and still be a good parent if you make good use of the limited amount &time you spend with your child. A small talk after dinner or a little son before bed may well perform the magic.


In order to be a good parent, you also have to be strict; it is for the child's own good. He may not like it of course, who will? However, it is from strict parent that a child learns discipline. Under certain circumstance I even agree with the use of force. A good beating or a severe scolding is far easier to remember for a little child than a patient persuasion. He is too young for you to =son with; but you can make him learn his lesson the hard way if the little sweet talk fails. Though I think the use of tome is the last resort a patent should turn to, it is nonetheless rather effective.


A good parent should be caring and loving. A strong bond is Conned between the pann and the child inhere is love. A loving and caring environment is very crucial in a child's .G's growth. A good parent should also be a good role model for the chikl to look up to. A child learns many of his habits hum his parents and it is all up to a palm to choose what kind of habits heishe wants hisiher child to inherit. For example, a parent should immediately quit smoking if he/she notices his/her child has the tendcncy to pick up this bad habit. All in all, a good parent thou Id behave himself in order to set good examples to his child.

To be a good parent is hard but not impossible; in fact I believe all those who really put in a gmat deal of effort should find themselves doing well in this job. After all what is mom important is the attitude: if one wants to be a good parents, he can do it.

I study in a big school. The library in the school is also a very big one. It has over 50.000 books in it. It is on the first floor of our school and occupies almost half the floor. The classrooms are all on the ground floor. This keeps the library calm and quiet and the noise of the students does not reach here.

The library is a huge hall and is divided into sections with glass partitions. It has a reading room and one room for the librarian and the staff of the library.

Different sections in the hall arc meant for different kinds of books which are placed on iron shelves. One section is meant for languages. one for literature. one for humanities. on for sciences, for sports and so on.

All kinds of books are available in our school library such as books on literature, history, civics. mathematics. physics. chemistry, painting, music, sports, magic, geography, zoology etc.
The biggest section of books in the library contains children's books. These books cover stories, adventure, fairy tales etc.

I visit the library very often because it is a charming place. I sit and read a book in my free period. Once a week we get a chance to issue a book of our choice.


The library also contributes to a number of magazines and newspapers. A book is given to a student for a week. We have to look after the book and not let it get torn. The magazines and newspapers have to read in the library itself.

Our librarian is a kind man.He help us locate the books we need. In case of any problem he consult the catalogue to help the student in locating a book of their choose.

There arc many lovely things in our lives such as the fish air on a winter day, the beauty of the country in autumn, learning of love and the growing of a friendship. Everyone has friends or desires friends in the pursuit of sharing emotions. Thus many people enjoy spending most of their time with friends, like me, while others prefer to remain alone.

There is no doubt one needs time for oneself. When I reneat to my dorm at the end of the workday there is no one to tell me what to do. I often write little secrets in my dairy, enjoy soothing music without being disturbed or read philosophy books. Being alone provides a time to reflect and ponder one's figure life course, with a greater clarity and purpose. Accompanied by many friends from the dorm I would have no chance to relish such retreats.

On the other hand, spending time with friends is stimulating and provide a mental break from ones daily routine. Since 1 am a sociable and open person, I invariably feel happy and relaxed when I do things with my close friends. We can take part in all kinds of after-school activities such as playing volleyball, swimming or climbing. Some profound, or stimulating ideas often appear in my mind when I am with such friends while being alone often no such inspiration manifests.

When I come with friends I can always exchange views with them about study, society or love thereby obtaining some interesting information or knowledge. A group of people provides a means of testing one's ideas and learning from one another. When I confront serious problems and I am unsure of which cotuse of action to pursue a close friend provides a means of reassurance that I am not alone in my way of thinking or chosen course of action.

Being with friends can be fun and aid one in overcoming the trying periods in life. Being happy in life means doing the things you enjoy and having someone to share the feeling with you. Being with friends most of time is an enjoyable aspect of life for me as it is a source of inspiration, satisfaction and ongoing education.
Some people like to spend most of their time with their friends. Other people, however, just want to be alone in their spare time. As far as I am concerned, I belong to the latter kind of people.

In the first place, I feel comfortable if I am alone. This is not because I do not like friends, but because of my personal character, quiet and a bit shy. When I am with my friends, I always feel embarrassed since I am always a listener. Trying, to find topics makes me very tired. On the contrary, staying alone does not bother inc. I do not need to discuss with others about what I want to do. Go shopping, go to a movie, go swimming, just do it. The most important thing is,

I do not feel lonely when I am alone.
In the second place, I need to have more time to learn new knowledge. I am working in the field of computer programming. As we know, the development of the computer technology is amazingly fast. If a person has not been working this field for more than five years, he would tind that he has to study from scratch when he decides to pick up his old job. So it goes without saying that I have to update my computer knowledge frequently in order to keep up with my career. Based on this, I do not have much spare time to fool around with friends.

In conclusion, I prefer to spend most of my time alone not only because I am not good at getting along with friends, but also because I have to spend most of time in studying new technology.

I had heard that a fish market is the noisiest place in the world. But, last Saturday, when I visited the local vegetable market. I felt that probably the expression 'fish market' contained half the truth only. I think the vegetable market is the noisiest place in the world.

The market was not only noisy hut also filthy. The stench was all pervasive. I wondered how the vegetable sellers could sit the whole day in the dirt and smell. Cows, dogs and other animals were also mingling with human beings.

I. however. realised that just as I was compelled by circumstances to go to the market others must be also visiting it out of compulsion.

I had taken my servant with me and ordered him to carry few bags with him. We contacted different vendors and shopkeepers. We haggled with them over rates.



Finally we filled our bags and sacks with carrots. radishes, turnips, peas, cabbages, cauliflowers, potatoes, tomatoes etc.  indeed whatever we could lay hands on at a reasonable rats. We hired a rickshaw and returned home. I thanked of God that I had not got an infectious skin disease like scabies, eczema etc. while going through the dirty vegetable market.

All children, and even grown tips, are fond of keeping pets. Some have fishes, cats, rabbits and parrots at their pets. I have a dog for a pet.

The name of my pet is Tarzan. He is a ferocious dog. He is a big dog and has large bright eyes.
I got my dog from my cousin. He was going abroad and wanted a good home for his dog who was then a puppy. I was only too happy to volunteer and that is how I got Tarzan.

Targan is dark brown in colour and barks very loudly at all strangers. Even the postman and other delivery men are scared of coming inside our house. In fact when Tarzan is in the courtyard, no thieves or burglars dare think of entering the premises of the house.

Tarzan loves to cat bread, meat and drink milk. It accompanies me for my walks and enjoys barking at other dogs. I always put Tarzan on a leash so that the passerby's do not get scared or traunatised.

I bathe it daily with dog soap and also comb its hair- coat. Tarzan is a clean dog and never spoils the floor of the house.

It sleeps in one corner of my room. When it is very cold in winters I smuggle it on to my bed and feel very warm and cosy.



I love Tarzan very much and thank God for giving me such a lovely and affectionate pet.
