Technology is the knowledge of the process and techniques that transforms the abstract ideas of scientists and mathematicians into a concrete reality. It is the 'know-how' that enables us to extract the raw materials and then convert them into fuel, steel, chemicals. plastics and food. Technology is also concerned with perfection of industrial processes, with mass production and automation. The advancing technology implies pollution, the exhaustion of natural resources and lack of workers' satisfaction in automated factories. Thus technology is a two-edged weapon.

The chemical industry has grown a lot in the 49th and 20th centuries. It turned natural rubber into a material to be used on an industrial scale. New discoveries like plastic artificial fibres and synthetics were industrialised. Dynamo and electric motors gave fillip to technological development. Early in the 20th century, Henry Ford. the American industrialist, added a new dimension to industrial technology-that of sheer scale. These developments in technology led to serious problem of unemployment, squandering of material resources and social dislocation.

Biotechnology, the manipulation of man's own boy made spectacular advances after the Second World War. An array of drugs to combat diseases were produced. By saving lift, it contributed to the population explosion. Tranquilisers, stimulants and psycho¬therapeutic drugs controlling mental processes were of great value in the hands of the medical profession but created a great social problem when they became generally available.

Computers have opened up new vistas. These can make any number of calculations; modes of particular hypothetical situations can be produced and studied. These have created the problem of unemployment. Sometimes mechanical calculations may do harm to other people and nations. Space technology poses great danger to the world if it is used for polluting the atmosphere. That is why pollution has become an international problem. Now every country is worried about pollution. It in only because of modern technology there is no doubt that it has created a lot of problem.

Technology has made man mechanical in outlook, ruthless in attitude, materialistic in thinking and cold and calculating in behaviours. Thus, technology has created psychological, social and other problems.
Moreover technology has made man of part of the machine. Even in his leisure, has no time to enjoy. He has to work. He has gone away from nature because of this technology. There is no difference between man and machine. So we can say that technology has created more problems.

Essay On Wonders Of Electricity

Essay On Wonders Of Electricity. The comforts of modern living cannot be thought of without electricity. Since its very invention in the last century, electricity has been put to use in several ways, and today we have practically become a slave to this invisible power. We lit our homes with electric lamps. work under electric fans, live in air-conditioned houses. travel in electric cars and electric trains, press electric bells to call our servants, use electric washing machines and enjoy T.V. and films all worked by electric power. Thus, in almost every field of modern living we depend on the house of electricity.

The development of industry in the modern age is entirely a miracle of electricity. In every factory it is the electric current that turns the wheel. The country who can produce sufficient electricity for industrial and domestic use can manage to progress speedily. The total industrial produce and commercial turn over of a country depends on the quantity of electric power available for her industry and transport.

Electricity has not only revolutionised our industry and commerce, it has also brought for us great facilities in the field of education and health. Treatment by X-rays and electrothropy would have been impossible without the help of electricity. Diagnosis and operations in many complicated diseases are done only with the help of electric power. and for almost all chemical preparations and medicines electricity is a must. Even in the field of education we find electricity very useful. Education through films, radio and tape- records has been possible only with the help of electricity.

In brief, electricity is a servant that serves us for 24 hours, both in the home as well as out side the home. It is a good servant only till the time you keep it under your thumb. But, as soon as your grip becomes loose, it becomes a cruel master. Thousands of people in every country die. every year simply because of electric shocks. As soon as this giant is out of control it becomes extremely dangerous. Therefore, with all its blessings, its risks should also be put in mind.

On the whole, electricity is a very useful and important power. It has become a part and parcel of modern living. Its advantages are so numerous that people forget its dangers and very
often become. a prey to it. But that is a fault not with the electric power but with those who use it.

Essay On Value Of Education,The ability to learn was just as foreign to me as another language. However, this has changed, as education slowly became the centre of my world. Education has given me confidence, goals to reach, and a desire to give back. When I first arrived to prison I was convinced that I just wasn’t one of those people who could learn from books. This was built up because most of my life I was called stupid and began to believe it myself. I was put into adult basic education where they centre most of my class on math.

With much practise and time I learned about decimals, fractions, and I wouldn’t believe geometry and even algebra. My self-confidence was rebuilt. I could learn! Over that I was so excited. Next, I began to have goals. Which is a good thing because now I can be in prison and build a future? This still keeps me amazed. When I get my G.E.D I will be taking another class called auto-cad, it’s a very hard class but now I’m not intimidated because I know from experience now that I can learn.

I know what it feels like to have difficult time learning. I would like to be able to give back by helping others to learn. I will be taking the L.V.A training class when I’m approved, this is to learn and become certified in tutoring people. Also I now have a tremendous amount of understanding, which gives me more patience with people.

Now I know education has become what motivates me and I couldn’t think of anything better I would want. Well, there is one thing and that is to let people know that no matter what anyone has said or done, you can reach your goals, it may be a lot of hard work and perseverance but it is well worth it.

Essay On The Environment Is a Wonderful Place

Essay On The Environment Is a Wonderful Place. The environment is a beautiful place. Many people destroy the environment by throwing trash on the ground. We need to respect it. It is very important to save the environment and keep it healthy because we have to live in it. There are many ways it can be saved; by recycling, saving water, and saving paper we can
make a difference.  First, the environment could be helped by recycling. Recycling is very important. There many things that can be recycled.

A partial list includes; plastic cups, water bottles, and plastic straws. When people recycle things, these things are used again. Also, when you recycle things it makes you feel good about yourself because you did something to help the environment by stopping littering and keeping the landfills clean.  Secondly, the environment can be helped by saving water. It would be a horrible thing if there was not enough water on earth.

Water can be saved by taking shorter showers, turning the water off while brushing your teeth, and containing rain water in rain barrels (for the purpose of watering the grass). Saving water is a perfect way to help the environment.  Furthermore, the environment can be helped by recycling paper.

For example, a student can use the back of their paper to write more things. Also, paper can be recycled when you are done with it. If you like to read the newspaper, remember to recycle it when you finish. Many trees are cut down because we use so much paper. If we recycle more paper, fewer trees could be cutdown. This in turn helps keep the carbon dioxide out of the water.  In conclusion, many people litter and throw things on the ground.

Our environment is a great place, but we have to take care of it. It would be helpful if more people would recycle, and save water. Those are some things that can be done to help the
environment. The environment is a wonderful place and should be respected.
My favorite place in the world is St. Petersburg, Florida. The reason why St. Pete, as many call it, is my favorite place is because it is my hometown. I love it so much and can remember my old house address and phone number. In St. Petersburg, there was a lot to do. I would go skating, shopping, hang out with friends, and go to the beach, park, and community pool.

I used to live right next to the water down the street from the St. Petersburg Pier. The pier is a building out in the ocean and is six to seven stories high. You could fish at the pier, go shopping, go to shows, or go to the rook and have dinner and listen to music. Looking over the balcony, you could enjoy the ocean view and watch the sun rise and set.

It was the most beautiful sight!  Another reason why I love St. Pete is because of the great time I had with my friends. I had a friend that lived directly across the street and we were both born at the same time. I knew him my whole life. As we grew up, his parents had three more children and we all became close friends. They were known to me as the Andrews boys, and they called me “Briz”. As we grew up, we spent most of our time together and we always kept a picture book of what we did for fun.

We would make plans on what we would do for fun each day. We would go swimming, fishing, climbing and would play games, such as soccer and hockey.  All that changed when my family thought that I needed to live somewhere else where there was less trouble. They packed me up and loaded everything in a moving truck. I said my goodbyes to my friends and started a new life here in Lake City, Florida.

Essay On Hope Is A Great Healer - Hope Is Life

Essay On Hope Is A Great Heal.Last year we saw many alarming economic events. Prestigious firms such as Lehman Brothers collapsed, and Merrill Lynch was taken over by Bank of America. The insurance conglomerate AIG was bailed out by the federal government, and Seattle-based Washington Mutual was under a cloud. Financial meltdown, corporate bankruptcy, inflation and economic crisis are everywhere. If you turn on the TV or listen to the news on the
radio, you soon notice that these words occupy a large amount of time.

During the news, the financial trouble of some large banks has sent shock waves through the stock market resulting in a downward shift in many people's portfolios. Seniors wonder if their savings will last. Young adults wonder if they will ever be able to retire. Sixty-eight percent of the people in the US are feeling financial pressure. People have stopped buying homes; instead they are using their money on everyday expenses. Small companies are rapidly going out of business.

Families are in such a strain that they have stopped paying their mortgages and are defaulting on their loansIn this turbulent environment two things remain steadfast. They are faith and hope. Will things get better? I believe that they will (being the optimist I am), but of course, I cannot answer that question. How long will it take? I certainly cannot answer that one either. What I do know is that everything happens for a reason and what we see happening to us today is only the building block for tomorrow.

No matter how hard times seem, how stressful times are, how hopeless times feel, or how helpless we may feel, the one thing we always have is the strength and resources within us to keep a positive attitude and to keep the hope that pushes us forward. Is this a huge depression? Or has the media blown it out of proportion in order to capitalize on negative news? After every downturn, recession or depression, the US economy has come back stronger than ever.

In the late 1920's and early 1930's, the US had the Great Depression. The country survived. In the early to mind 70's, when gas prices doubled, again the country survived. In the 80's, when the stock market lost 20% of its value in a matter of a week, the country survived again. Economic health requires that we work together; changing attitudes could be the first stop. We must trust again, have faith and hope. With this and perseverance, we will not only survive - we will thrive.
