Essay on the Importance of Clean Environment

Of late, environment has received a lot of attention. Not only intellectuals but even the ordinary men and women are becoming aware of the need to have a clean environment.

As a result, what is detrimental to environment is opposed today. Hundreds of developmental projects which are blind to environmental concerns are objected by the general public. ‘Save Narmada Agitation’ that is currently going on in western India is a shining example in this respect.

In its simplest connotation, the term ‘environment’ means the surrounding habitat of man. In its widest sense, it refers to the entire earth with its green forests, vast oceans, the layers of air and oxygen, etc. In its narrowest meaning, environment means the immediate surroundings of man – his home, work place, market, neighbourhood, etc. It also includes the atmosphere in which he lives.

The importance of good and clean environment cannot be described adequately. According to many scientists, the factor which influences the growth of individuals most is environment. But unfortunately, the various elements of environment such as, air, water, land, etc., are polluted and contaminated.

Urbanisation, industrialisation and overcrowded living have primarily been responsible for this menace. Pollution is also caused by vehicles, supersonic jets, smoke-producing factories, radio-active elements, etc. The careless dumping of solid wastes by households, factories, markets, commercial centres, etc., in the open places, streets and in the rivers have further aggravated the problem.

The polluted environment is a health hazard and causes several diseases and ailments. It ruins our chances of survival. Hence, an all-out attempt must be made to have a clean environment. This requires several corrective and preventive measures. One of the best ways to have a clean environment is to plant more trees.

Human beings, factories and vehicles pollute the air with carbon dioxide, monoxide and poisonous gases. But the oxygen which the trees give out lessens their harmful effect. Secondly, pollution caused by the dumping of wastes in streets, rivers, living places must be stopped at all cost.

This calls for individual and community efforts. The recent Supreme Court order in India, to close down those factories which dump their wastes in the Ganges, is indeed a right step in the right direction.

Thus, on the whole, people are becoming aware of the vital need to have a good and clean environment. The awakening of the general masses in this respect is a welcome sign and would make our world a better place to live in.

Essay On Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness

Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness. :

By cleanliness we mean the habit of keeping physically and mentally clean.

A smartly dressed person with clean habits creates an impression on others. It usually reflects a clean character also. In other words, a person’s character can be assessed by the way he dresses.

If he is carelessly dressed, he will most probably be an unruly person. Similarly, if he is in the habit of dressing smartly, he tends to be clean in character also. This is the general rule although there are exceptions to it.

Men with good character are usually pious and god-fearing. They stick to certain morals in their life. Thus, having a god fearing or clean heart is the first step to being godly. In other words, godliness should begin from the heart.

One can have a clean heart only if he cultivates a good character. In other words, a good heart is moulded from a good character.

All religions insist on cleanliness before worship. This is because cleanliness is the first important thing in being near to god.

This proves that the proverb cleanliness is next to godliness is true to the core.

My Experience In The Examination Hall

Essay On My Experience In The Examination Hall.It is interesting to pen a few lines on the experience which I came across in the examination hall. My first Metric examination was held in the year 1997. I read a lot on the night preceding the examination day. I revised my entire course though my father warned me against the consequences of studying up to late at night but I did not pay any heed to his advice.

I went to the examination hall almost at the right time. The moment I was climbing the stairs, the first bell rang. I rushed to the hall and searched for the seat bearing my roll number. Within five minutes all the examinees took their respective seats. My heart was palpitating. I began to feel nervous. The superintendent of the examination read about the instructions of the Board to the students. He also warned the students against the objectionable papers and slips which may be of any help to the examinees. So, many students
Searched their pockets and threw away such matters as related to the subjects. He also warned the candidates not to use any other unfair means.

He then broke the official seal of the envelop, containing the question papers. At this time there was a pin drop silence in the hall. I became all the more nervous. Then the supervisors distributed the question papers to the examinees. As I fetched the question paper. I Tell a bit confused. I began to read it but could not understand the questions. I made a second attempt in reading the questions.

This laminae I understood all the questions and some of them seemed easy to me. Other examinees were seen looking hither and thither. Some were very busy in writing while others Were gazing at the ceiling of ilic examination hall. Some were whispering and talking. An examiner was seen talking openly with another examiner and the ..supervisor pointed at them. Both were expelled from the hall. This instance was an eye-opener to others who were intending to copy.

As the first bell rang, I was solving questions. I did the easy questions first and then attempted the difficult ones. Just after some line one examiner fell from his seat. He became unconscious. At his incident there was a stir in the hall. Attention was diverted to Soon the doctor came and gave him medical aid. He came to his ..enses but the doctor advised him not to exert any more. So he left lie hall Nk ithout completing his paper.
Then there was another bell. Now half an hour was left.

I unpolluted my paper but re-read the whole of the answer sheet. By eliding I corrected many mistakes which otherwise would have mule me lose marks. I stitched all the extra-sheets with my answer look I lien there was the final and !ast ring. The superintendent of he announced that no one would write anything then. Soon the mm willmors collected the answer books.

I was feeling tired at that I then. came out of them emanation hall. This first, though 1,141k...hug and instructive, experience will always be remembered iii et ollected by me in my life. I learnt a lot about the precautions lie taken and instructions to be followed during the period of
